Sources told The Hollywood Reporter that Freeform wanted a third season of “Famous in Love” and asked Hulu to pony up more money to help with its high cost. I woulda liked a phone call maybe. There were also rumors of strife behind the scenes, with insiders revealing clashes between King and Thorne over the latter’s purported “diva-like behavior” on set. Marlene King and told the story of an aspiring actress (Bella Thorne) who lands the role of a lifetime in a big-budget blockbuster and embarks on the roller coaster ride of celebrity life. Freeform is calling “cut!” on the Hollywood-set drama “Famous in Love” after two seasons. Its May 30 season finale will be its last unless the show is rescued by another outlet. Rumors began swirling earlier this week about the show’s cancellation and Thorne tweeted that she was “upset” to find out her show has possibly been canceled without the courtesy of a phone call:

If this is how I find out our show is canceled..I’m going to be so upset. Very hurtful freeform. Unfortunately, Hulu said no, perhaps because of a decrease in viewership in Season 2.
